More Beach Fun!

Maggie, Evie, and Josh say thanks to Nana and Paw Paw!

Maggie, Evie, and Josh say thanks to Nana and Paw Paw!

Today was our best, and sadly to say, last day at the beach.  All three of the babies ended up having lots of fun today.  Evie did still prefer to play on the towel, but she did venture off some!  I am so, so tired, so here are some pics from the day.

We loved playing together!

How Did This Happen?

by Ginny

Do you ever wonder how things happen?  I am wondering that right now.  How is it I am old enough to be married and have children?  I am pretty certain yesterday I was in high school goofing off with my friends wondering what I would be when I “grew up”.  It is hard to believe I am the one the kids at Publix are saying “ma’am” to while bagging my groceries.  It amazes me every night as I crawl in bed next to Raj that I marries such a wonderful man.  I was like so many other girls.  I was always so worried I would never get married.  Now look at me!  I am very happily married, and I am a MOM!  How amazing and awesome!

Raj and I were given the most wonderful gift.  Nana and Paw Paw have let us use their condo for a long weekend.  Nana and Paw Paw are Joy’s husband’s grandparents.  Did that make sense?  In my opinion, Nana is the coolest lady over the age of 65 in the world.  I hope to be just like her.  Paw Paw is wonderful too.  They feel like extended family to me.  Nana sent me homemade (GOOOOOOD homemade) food while I was in the hospital.  She also sends us cookies frequently….bad for the hips, great for the lips!  I just think the world of them.

Okay, to my initial thought.  Raj and I are here at the beach alone with our children.  This is very surreal to me.  We drove through the night to get here with as little fuss from the babies as possible.  I did most of the driving, and that gave me time to reminisce.  The fondest memories I have as a child were going to the beach as a family.  We went several times a year because Aunt Anne lived on Jekyll Island.   Every time we went, we would always stop by the beach before going to her house.  We just HAD to put our feet in the water…..even if it was freezing!  I remember riding our bikes all over the island until our butts would hurt so bad we could not sit on the bike seat.  I remember looking for conch shells and sand dollars.  I remember going to sunrise Easter services on the island.  I remember playing spoons at night.  (That is a fun card game FYI)  All I remember are happy times.

As I drove, I thought of all the happy memories Raj and I are starting to make for our family.  I thought of all the hopes and dreams I have for the kids.  I thought of all the hopes and dreams I have for me and Raj.  I can’t believe I am a mom at the beach with MY kids.  I was always afraid this was not going to happen.  I am not sure why, but I always worried.  Now thanks to Nana and Paw Paw, we are here with our family starting our own memories with the family I always hoped and prayed for.

Let me just add, I love going to the beach with my entire family.  However, to go as a single unit for the first time is incredible.  Raj and I have been so blessed with family who loves us.  There is nothing else I could ever want.

Senior Prom

by Ginny

*Blog post written Saturday.  I had to figure out how to resize pictures!
Isn't Emily beautiful?!?!?!?!

Isn't Emily beautiful?!?!?!?!

Tonight is Emily’s prom.  If you don’t know who Emily is, let me tell you about her.  She is the most wonderful teenager I have ever met.  She is like family to us.  She is the person who reminded me to start chest compressions on Maggie.  She helped save my baby’s life.  She is a musician, an artist, and an honor student.  She is a kind, thoughtful, funny, loving, Godly woman.  She is the best.  I hope my girls turn out like her.

Emily and her date Calvin

I took the girls and they got to see what they were going to get to do when they are seniors in high school!  I am so not ready for that yet.  I am so glad to have sixteen more years…..

Emily with Evie and Maggie

Emily with Evie and Maggie

Okay, on with my story.  We got to go and see Emily and her group of friends take pictures before the prom.  She looked GORGEOUS!  Her friends looked great too!  Evie and Maggie were both in awe of Emily.  They also loved the surroundings!  The house where the pictures were taken was BEAUTIFUL.  I told Raj I want that house next…..it was numerous millions of dollars…..I guess we will have to save a while longer!

How is Evie with EMily here?!?!?!?

How sweet is Evie with Emily here?!?!?!?

I have a very bad feeling that when I blink, my babies will be seniors in high school.  I can’t think about that right now.  I am going to cherish every moment I have with them!

They are going to be all grown up when I blink!

They are going to be all grown up when I blink!

I love you all.

Pray For Stellan

by Ginny

So, I need to be in bed.  Oh well.  Today, Stellan has been on my heart.  He is a miracle on every level.  You need to go to his Mom’s blog to read their story.

Prayers for Stellan

Long story short, very short, he was flown to Boston today to have a cardiac ablation secondary to cardiac arrhythmias and SVT.  For all non-medical people, really, really, really bad heart rates and rhythms.  He is the baby brother to triplets and his parents were told he would not survive to birth and they should consider termination.  They didn’t.  He’s alive today!

Please, please pray for peace for Stellan’s parents.  Pray for wisdom for Stellan’s cardiologist.  Pray for complete healing for Stellan’s heart.

I love you all.

A Year Ago Today….

by Ginny

Today one year ago, I was admitted to Northside for the duration of my pregnancy.  I was scared.  No terrified.  No overwhelmed with fear.  That may be closer to the truth.  I was 27 weeks 5 days, and I had a 10mm cervix.  I was contracting every three to seven minutes.  God is so good!  It is amazing what I have now!  This year life is so much more fun than last year!

Here is the link to a year ago today….

I love you all.

11 Month Old Letters

Maggie, Josh, and Evie are six weeks old here!

Maggie, Josh, and Evie are six weeks old here!

Maggie, Josh, And Evie Are 11 Months Old!

Maggie, Josh, and Evie are 11 months old!

Evie, Josh, and Maggie

Evie, Josh, and Maggie

My sweet angels!

My sweet angels!

Miss Evie

Miss Evie

Dear Miss Evie,

Girlfriend, you are a wild woman!  You love to talk.  You still love using your outdoor voice indoors.  That hurts mine and Daddy’s ears some.  It is so funny to hear you get excited.  You do this cute sniffing thing with your breathing.  We can always tell when you are happy and coming towards us because of this!  You hate being in the play room aka “baby jail” if I’m not in there with you.  You will stand and wail at the gate.  I can honestly say I am not too sympathetic to your tears at the gate anymore.  I have to get some things done around the house, and I can’t do it with you under toe.  Sorry princess.

Maggie and Evie are happy girls!

Maggie and Evie are happy girls!

You are my best napper.  You always sleep in the pack and play in my room.  When I put you down for your nap, you put you thumb in your mouth and go to sleep.  You rarely ever put up a fuss.  However, you are cranky if I have to wake you up.  In fact, you are cranky even when I don’t wake you up.  I know you get this honestly from me, but still, it’s bad.

I wish you could hear how loud you were talking!

I wish you could hear how loud you were talking!

You love to play.  You are definitely not picky about what you play with.  However, you don’t always love to share.  Neither do your brother or sissy either, so don’t feel bad.  You are pulling to stand all of the time.  You are also a very fast crawler.  You think the most fun game is when I let go of you standing.  Then you fall into my arms laughing away.  It is so sweet.

Hmmm...interesting!

Hmmm...interesting!

You are eating so well.  You are really starting to pick food up with your fingers and put it in your mouth.  You love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  You also like it for hair stying products!  You are starting to drink out of your sippy!  Whoo hoo!  I have not seen a food you don’t like yet.  You are really liking the new dishes I have been giving you.  Thank goodness!

e_2

Now you are weighing 19 pounds!  You are in the 25% for weight.  You are in size three diapers during the day and size four at night.  You’re still wearing 9-12 month clothes.  The twelve month stuff is still big on you.  I am so proud of you and all you have done this month.  I can’t believe you are going to be one so soon!

I love you so much.  You are the most precious gift ever.  You will always be my Evie.

Love Always,

Mommy

Sweet Maggie

Sweet Maggie

Dear Miss Maggie,

You are an amazing mighty mite Miss Maggie!  You are doing so incredibly well!  You are definitely a people person!  You will grin and talk to anyone.  You are my daring child.  I am going to have to watch out for you.  Well, I already have to do that!  So far this month you have….fallen down stairs, fallen out of the stroller, tried to fall out of the bouncy, oh yeah, and fallen down the stairs again!  You are afraid of NOTHING.  I am afraid of everything because of that.  I have to watch you like a hawk or you will be driving the car before you turn two!

What a happy girl!

What a happy girl!

You are the one child I look forward to getting up in the morning or from a nap.  You are so, so happy.  You just grin and laugh when you see me.  I am smiling as I write this in fact!  It just makes my day to know you love me that much!  Even if you are asleep when I come into your room, you hear me and wake up instantly with that huge smile on your beautiful face!  Now getting you to sleep, that is a whole other issue!  You will wail for 30 solid minutes if you don’t want to go to bed.  That is absolutely brutal for me and Daddy.  We feel so bad, but you have to sleep.  I love the nights you go to sleep with a fight.  They are rare, wonderful nights for sure!

I love those eyes!

I love those eyes!

You love playing with everything!  However, one of your favorite toys right now is the bouncy seat.  Yes.  The bouncy seat.  You love to make it make noise.  You love to crawl into it and stand.  (We hate that part of it.)  You love to make it bounce while standing in it.  It is no longer in the play room.  We just can’t let you break your neck.  It just would not be good.

Maggie is studying the toy.

Maggie is studying the toy.

You have a favorite room in the house.  It is the closet!  However, the bathroom is a close second!  If you can get into the closet, that is where you are going to be playing!  There is so much stuff in there to explore, and I need to clean, that you love it!  I makes me a little nervous for you to be in there if I am in the kitchen, but I check on you tons, so I guess it is okay.

I love your face in this picture!

I love your face in this picture!

You are my most temperamental eater.  You still prefer your bottles to solid food.  You will happily eat solids, but then you will not drink any formula.  That makes me nervous.  You need both.  You like to eat finger foods I put in your mouth.  You are not picking it up yourself very often at this point.  You come close to refusing to drink out of your sippy.  However, you are at least picking it up and examining it n0w.  I am certain you will be drinking out of it soon enough.

What are you going to get into here?!?!?!

What are you going to get into here?!?!?!

You are weighing 18 pounds 10 ounces.  You are in the 20% for your weight.  You are wearing size three diapers.  I think you will be in them for a while longer.  When I have to put you in a size four diaper, they swallow you whole!  You are in mostly nine month clothing.  Some things you wear are twelve months, and I hope you grow into them by the end of the summer!!  You have tiny feet.  They are so precious.  I can’t wait to get your foot measured so I can know what size shoe you wear!

You have blossomed this month.  I have loved watching every second of it.  I love you so much my precious Maggie.

Love Always,

Mommy

My Josh

My Josh

Dear Josh,

You are the most amazing little guy in the world.  You are absolutely the most heart warming and loveable little boy ever.  You are definitely going to be a heart breaker one day.  The way you smile just melts my heart.  The way you look at me (and everyone else) with that cute, flirty look is adorable!  All the girls love you for it!  You are definitely pretty mellow most of the time like your Daddy.  However, you still have a little spunk in ya!  No fears!

Josh likes this toy!

Josh likes this toy!

You are my most content child….most of the time.  You will happily entertain yourself for hours.  Quite frequently I can see you looking at Evie wondering why she is wailing at the baby gate.  That is so funny to watch.  You are happy to do your own thing.  You are definitely male!  The girls always have to be with people, but you are content to play whether you are alone or not. There will be no group bathroom trips for you when you get older!!

Josh is trying to figure out what is going on.

Josh is trying to figure out what is going on.

You love taking baths!  You have just learned how to pull up in the tub.  You and Maggie are always vying for the prime standing spot!  You normally win, and she normally ends up crying!  You splash and splash in the water.  I am so glad you are happy to play because you are normally the last one out!  You love playing with the big cup and the washcloths.  How precious!

Josh is not sure he likes his new shoes.

Josh is not sure he likes his new shoes.

You are the most advanced eater in the group.  You are starting to drink from your sippy cup very, very well.  I am very impressed.  You also love picking up your own food.  Your favorite finger food is Goldfish!  You love them.  I am pretty certain by the time you turn one, you will be off your bottles totally.  You are even holding your bottles now!  I have to admit, that is a gift to me.  Now you can eat, and I can feed your sissies.

Josh thinks he wants THAT!

Josh thinks he wants THAT!

Right now you weigh about 23 pounds right now.  You are in the 55%.   You are exclusively in size four diapers.  You could wear size three diapers, but the size four diapers seem to fit better.  You clothes are twelve to eighteen months.  The twelve month clothes seem to fit better.  Your foot is a 4 1/2 wide!  You have big feet mister.  Your growth is wonderful and amazing to me.

I am so proud of all you have accomplished.  You amaze me each and every day.  I love you so much my precious baby boy.

Love Always,

Mommy

The Day The Camera Died

by Ginny

Today our camera died.  Sniff.  Sniff.  Sigh.  Sigh.  I am grieving over the loss of my beloved camera.  It has been with us since before Raj and I got married.  I still remember us buying it at the Best Buy off of Cobb Parkway…….Another tear is falling….sigh.

It happened so quickly.  I went to turn it on while the babies were in the tub, and it would not turn on.  I took out the battery I had just charged.  I replaced it.  I took out the memory card.  I replaced.  Still no movement.  How sad.

I was about to take pictures of the babies because they are 11 months old today!!!  Mimi is going to let me use her camera, so I will have pictures later on.

Good bye sweet camera.  I’ll always have the pictures you took.

Check back later today for 11 month letters and pictures…hopefully!

I love you all.
